Common questions

What is the difference between AI consulting and AI automation?
Consulting decides what should be built and how. Automation designs and builds the system. This page covers the first part: assessing your processes, choosing use cases, comparing the options and producing a plan. The build itself is covered on our AI automation and integration page.
We don’t know what we want to build yet. Is that a problem?
No, that is the usual starting point. You do not need a brief, a shortlist of tools or a technical background. A description of how the work gets done today is enough to begin.
Will you tell us if AI is the wrong answer?
Yes. Some processes are better fixed with clearer rules, a tidier system or a small piece of conventional software. We would rather say so early than build something that does not earn its place.
Can you review an AI project or vendor we already have?
Yes. We read proposals, architectures and work in progress, then give an independent second opinion on whether the approach is sound and what we would question.
What about our data and UK GDPR?
We look at what data an idea would need, where that data would travel and what it means under UK GDPR, including anything that should not be sent to a third-party model at all. ICE WIND is registered with the ICO under ZB838524.
How much does an AI project cost?
It depends entirely on scope, and we do not put a figure on work we have not scoped. Our guide to how much AI automation costs explains the factors that move the number, and producing a realistic scope and cost estimate is part of what consulting is for.
Do we need to be in London to work with you?
No. ICE WIND is an AI consultancy based in London and we work with clients across the UK. Sessions run remotely or in person, whichever suits you.
